I often find that it is important to celebrate the little victories in life. Take a moment and enjoy the feeling when you've achieved something, when you've gotten one up on the gremlins in your head.
The anxieties, the procrastination, the days where you just don't have much 'oomph'.
When you have a day where you get something done, or make something your proud of, celebrate it, and don't worry for a moment about what isn't yet done!
Fly Like An Eagle (Doo doo doo!)
One such little victory I want to celebrate came today. I finished another model! No, it's not what I'd planned to get painted this week, but it's a win all the same. I've had some eagles built and primed on my desk for who knows how long, and I felt compelled to tinker with one today. It's been remarkably fast to paint, as I've mostly used a large brush and contrast paints for the feathers.

Just Slap Some Colour On!
It very easy to get wrapped up in the little details when painting a model. And these days, the details on models just keep getting more beautiful, more intricate, more bloody fiddly!
So it's always nice to change things up and paint something that's large, and relatively simple in design. Usually, when I feel the need for such a project I'll focus on terrain. But eagles are another gloriously broad canvas to work on!

An Eagle Eye For Details...
And yes, this is a bit of a U-Turn. I am still a sucker for tinkering with the tiniest features of a miniature. So it's fortunate that Eagle models provide an opportunity to get my teeny brushes out too! The faces on the Eagle models are superb. And the eyes, as with many of the monster models in the MESBG range, are larger than those of 'Human' sized figures, so they make great target practice for when you want to dot that eyeball!

Riders On The Storm
Those of you who tuned into last weekends live stream of A Tale Of Four Wargamers, will know I have still been chipping away at my Rohan too. So fret not if you're keen to see me make some headway on that project too!
The royal guards are now well into the layering and highlighting stage, as I'm batch painting the lot of them before delving into the many heroes.

I have plenty of work to do to get caught up with my peers Harry, Alex and John, but I'm very much back at my desk and working away again! So keep an eye on the blog for more updates soon!
Thanks again for reading, see you soon,
Jack
