Last night saw the reopening of the games club, at Wymondham Village Hall, near Melton Mowbray.
We meet every other Friday evening, for casual games, tournament practice, hobbying or just for a bit of a social!
Games club has now been running for two whole years, which in such a rural setting is no small feat. And one that we are, as a community, incredible proud of!

A Gathering Of Might!
Players and collectors from around the community were invited to bring in their Isengard, Rohan and Lothlorien forces to display on our newly finished* Helms Deep table!
Huge thanks go to Sam Roper, Oli Jeffcotte, Alex Ward, Kieran Ludlam and Aidan Durose for bolstering the forces on both sides of the deeping wall, and making for such a stunning display!

More Than Just Toy Soldiers!
Aswell as a fantastic show of support from the community, once again my amazing wife Holly came in clutch!
Her cooking skills are now legendary amongst the MESBG community, with tales of delicious catering being regaled across the country (there's even been much chatter about her catering as far as Australia!)

From Humble Beginnings
The continuous support from the gaming community has seen a once tiny group (I could count all members on one hand!) to a real titan in the UK Middle Earth gaming scene.
Not just players from the local area, but as fast as Leeds & Sheffield, Lincoln, Derby, Peterborough, Manchester, Oxford and even London (to name but a few!)
This has allowed us to grow what we can offer to players, having begun with a measley three gaming tables, and now growing to a whopping 17!

What Next, Then?
2026 is due to be a huge year for the Melton Community, and the wider wargaming community as a whole, country wide.
Ive been teasing something for a little while, about the 'big plans' we have going forward.
While we still aren't quite yet ready to reveal what we have up our sleeves, I can promise with confidence that news is on the way soooon...
If you can't wait, perhaps speak to some of our team members, and see if you can catch any rumours of what's to come!

Thank You!
Thank you all, who have made this all possible. Everyone who has played at club, at events, in my kitchen, who has painted and built stuff, who has donated time money and materials, who has driven people to events and club, to the supportive other halves who have allowed their spouses out for the long weekends! And everyone who the above has not yet covered.
Thank you all!
I hope to see you all again this year, but for now, I will leave you with a link to find the gallery, with a heap of highlights from last night.
Love to all,
Jack
