Last month saw part two of what has become a hugely popular events series, run by the now legendary Scott Perry!

The Destruction of Fangorn follows up on last year's Expansion of Fangorn, both GBHL80's with an arboreal theme.

While last year saw trees pop up on tables, creating a sprawling mass of line of sight blocking terrain for players to navigate, this year the forests were cut back.

The Last March Of The Ents - The Community pulled together to amass a whole herd of Ents!

Hobby Premium!

This was also our first ever Hobby Premium event, a new concept amidst the GBHL that better rewards the efforts of the many talented hobbyists within our community.

This generous spread of prizing (along with the ever generous spread of food) enticed a whopping 50 players to our halls, making this one of our biggest events to date!

The standard of painting and hobbying on display was even greater than usual, with a whole host of truly stunning works in miniature accumulated from across the far reaches of the country.

And What About Very Old Friends?

Once again we welcomed back a core of regular attendees who have been supporting our events for years now, but also hosted for a large number of brand new players. Many of which, I'm pleased to say, are already planning their return to our next event in September!

A Team Effort

Id like to give a huge special thanks to the Melton Team once again for all their help in realising this event. It was in fact the first event run by the Melton Community that I've been able to play in myself!*

So thank you all, with a special mention to Scott again for hosting, and to Mike and Holly for knocking the catering out of the park once again!

I dare say it was the best lunch to date!

Dr Mike Jones stepped in to cater this time, with Holly supporting in the Kitchen. Damn, can this man cook!

Premium Timber

I can't say when the next blog post will be, but I plan to share some details about the army I took along, with a focus on the main (tree) man who bagged me an award!

I will also be uploading all the photos of the winners of the various awards, as well as all the incredible hobby displays to the gallery in time to the gallery section of the website. So keep checking back!
